West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE), it is an entrance examination that provides the admission in UG engineering and technology courses by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB).
After qualifying this West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination, candidates can get direct admission in various private and government colleges within the state of West Bengal.
Entrance exam of WBJEE will be held in Offline mode. The exam will be conducted in TWO sittings for engineering, architecture and pharmacy programmes.
Students will get eligible for admissions in Government Colleges and Self-Financed Institutes in the state of West Bengal.
All the candidates should fulfill the specified eligibility criteria to apply for West Bengal JEE 2017. Candidates who do not fulfill the eligibility criteria will not be granted admission under any circumstances. Age
There is no maximum age limit. However, a candidate should be at least 16 years old, as on December 31, 2017.Candidates born on or after January 01, 2001, are not eligible to apply for WBJEE 2017. This means that the candidates must have been born by December 31, 2000.However, for admission to the degree level Marine Engineering Course. The lower age limit is 16 (seventeen) years as on December 31, 2017, and the upper age limit is 25 Years as on December 31, 2017.

Candidates will require choosing 3 exam centres in decreasing order of their preference at the time of filling up the application form. Marking scheme
Q Category 1: Candidates will be awarded one mark for correct answer. ¼ marks will be deducted for incorrect answer for combination of more than one option.
Q Category 2: Candidates will be awarded 2 marks for correct answer. ½ marks will be deducted for incorrect answer.
Q Category 3: Candidates will be awarded 2 marks for correct answers; no marks will be deducted for incorrect answer.

Nearly 1.3 lac candidates appeared in the WBJEE examination for admission into Government and privately run engineering colleges within the state of West Bengal. WBJEE examination was held on 17th May in a Pen Paper mode (Offline) examination across all major cities in West Bengal.
The test was held in two sessions- the first session started at 12.45 PM and lasted up to 2.45 PM. The second session was also of two hours and started after a break of half an hour. The result is expected to be declared in mid-June 2016.
Scores of WBJEE are important in seeking admission to the 4-year engineering degree courses of Government and private institutions. Students from outside West Bengal also appear for admission in the private run colleges.
Biology paper of WBJEE was cancelled due the recent Supreme Court ruling towards NEET. However, those seeking admission in B Pharm courses wrote Physics and Chemistry paper.
The test was in Pen Paper mode (Offline) and paper quality was quite on the expected lines. The distribution of the questions is as below:

The difficulty level of the exam varied from subject to subject. While Maths was relatively easy, Physics & Chemistry had a mix of moderate and difficult questions. Some questions in all sections had doubtful options.
